Work Outside the Diocese Committee

        Terms of Reference


        1. To make recommendations to the Diocesan Resources Committee about triennial Synod funding for the purpose of supporting work outside the Diocese.

        2. To authorise the expenditure of Synod funds allocated for this purpose under delegation from the Standing Committee and in accordance with any policy or direction given by the Standing Committee or Synod from time to time.

        3.  There is no minimum or maximum number of members. At least one-third of the members must be Standing Committee members.

        4. A member ceases to hold office if any of the circumstances set out in rule 7.1(2)(a) of the Schedule to the Synod Elections Ordinance 2000 arises.   

        5. Members are to be aware of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission’s External Conduct Standards.

        Chair

        6. The Committee is to elect a chair from among its members, who is to hold office until the first Standing Committee meeting after the first session of each Synod.

         

        Quorum 

        7.    Two members (Meetings (Quorum, Attendance and Resolutions) Ordinance 2007), including at least one Standing Committee member.
         

        Administrative Arrangements 

        8.    The Diocesan Secretary sees to the secretarial work and any costs are met by SDS.
         

        Retirement

        9.    The members hold office at the pleasure of the Standing Committee, but retire at the first Standing Committee meeting after the first session of each Synod.
         

        Reporting

        10.    The committee will report to the Standing Committee in March of each year a summary of its activities and expenditure in the previous financial year, together with a plan for the current year. The report is to include which projects were funded, how much each received and for what specific purpose(s).
