Annual Report for 2003
(A report from the Wollongong Regional Council.)
1. Wollongong Regional Council held five meetings during 2002. The Executive met on five other occasions.
2. A significant proportion of Regional Council's time was spent considering requests for Regional Grants funded by Synod. Grant requests for 2003 and dealt with in 2002 totalled $654,500. Grants were approved as following -

3. The Annual Regional Planning Day was held in September. The discussions centred around the Diocesan Mission and the Four Policies and how the Mission can be advanced in the Region. Mr Peter Kell acted as facilitator. As part of its implementation strategies the Council discussed ways of assisting ministries in the fastest growing areas in the Region.
4. The Council has made a deliberate effort to keep itself informed about ministry initiatives in the Region. Invited guests addressed meetings including Rev David Cole from Cataract/Ambarvale, Rev Michael Blake and Rev Stefan Bull from Narellan.
5. Throughout 2002 the Council spent time in discussion of and prayer for the Mission. The Council has representatives involved with both the 2a and 2b Policy Committees.
6. The Council received reports from Bishop Piper and the Assistant to the Bishop at each meeting. Additional reports were received from -

7. The regional council accepted resignations from several long-standing members during 2002. Included were Mr Peter Hayward, Mrs Irene Marshall and Mr John Wilson. Council welcomed new members Rev Scott Blackwell, Mr Doug Philpott and Mr Stuart Quarmby. Mr Ron Webb resigned as Secretary and Mrs Denise Weeks has replaced him.
