Child Protection Legislation #3
Prohibited Employment & Employment Screening - 29 May 2000
As you will be aware from previous circulars on this matter dated 5 and 18 April 2000, a series of regional child protection seminars has recently been completed at various locations within the Diocese.
Approximately 265 persons attended these seminars with representation from about 100 parishes (out of a total of 263 parishes in the Diocese ).
If your parish has not been able to send a representative to one of the recent seminars, supplementary seminars are being held in the Auditorium, Ground Floor, St Andrew's House, Sydney at the following times:
Monday 26 June 2000 at 12.30pm
Thursday 29 June 2000 at 5.00pm
Each seminar should take approximately 1½ hours.
As the legislation is now expected to come into effect in early July 2000, these seminars should provide a timely opportunity for ministers, churchwardens and others to consider what steps must be taken to comply with the legislation in your parish.
