of Canterbury Standing Committee -
Anglican Media Council - Australian Religious Press Association Awards Standing Committee congratulated the Anglican Media Council and its staff for receiving the following awards from the Australian Religious Press Association- Winner - Best Layout (Newspaper) Ordinances The purpose of this ordinance is to enable the members of the Property Trust to pass a resolution without holding a meeting of the members. Synod Matters Synod arrangements Standing Committee received a report from the Diocesan Secretary. 2002 Report of the Standing Committee Standing Committee noted a draft report and requested that members send any suggestions for amendment to the Diocesan Secretary by Wednesday 14 August 2002. Tribunal Ordinance 1962 Amendment Ordinance 2002 Standing Committee received a report and requested that a motion to defer the Tribunal Ordinance 1962 Amendment Ordinance 2002 to the next session of the Synod be moved at the forthcoming session "by request of the Standing Committee". Review of parochial classification These matters were deferred. Synod Appropriations and Allocations Ordinance 2002 The Archbishop addressed the Standing Committee about a paper headed "Draft Mission Strategy for the Diocese of Sydney". A time for questions and discussion followed. Bishop Peter Tasker then addressed the Standing Committee about papers headed "Allocations for 2003 to 2005 and 2006 to 2008" and "2003/2005 triennium and projection to 2006/2008". A time for questions and discussion followed. Parochial Cost Recoveries Date of Next Meeting Monday 26 August 2002. Meeting for 9 September 2002 Standing Committee requested that the Archbishop convene a meeting for 9 September 2002 should there be sufficient business to warrant a meeting. |
