Long Title

An Ordinance to provide for the application of the Schedule to the Parishes (Special Administration) Ordinance 2004 to the parish of St George North.

The Standing Committee of the Synod of the Diocese of Sydney Ordains as follows.

1. Name

This Ordinance is the St George North (Special Administration) Ordinance 2006.

2. Application of Special Administration Provisions

The provisions of the Schedule to the Parishes (Special Administration) Ordinance 2004 (the “Special Administration Provisions”) apply to the parish of St George North (the “Parish”).

3. Repeal

The St George North (Special Administration) Ordinance 2004 (the “2004 Ordinance”) is repealed but without affecting the validity of any action taken under the 2004 Ordinance.

4. Transitional provisions

(1)        The Registrar is taken to have received a notification for the purposes of clause 17 of the Special Administration Provisions of each group of persons which is a congregation under the 2004 Ordinance immediately before the repeal of the 2004 Ordinance.

(2)      All persons elected or appointed under or in accordance with the 2004 Ordinance and holding office immediately before the repeal of the 2004 Ordinance are to remain in office as if they had been elected or appointed under or in accordance with the Special Administration Provisions.
